Microsoft Surface Pro 4 - How To Boot From USB Media

01:37
Here I cover how change the boot order on the Surface Pro 4 in order to boot from an operating system on a USB thumb drive. Essentially the steps are to shutdown the Surface, plug in your bootable USB media, hold the volume-up button and then press the power button once while still holding the volume-up button. Keep holding the volume-up button until the Surface UEFI screen displays. From here select Boot Configuration and drag USB storage to the top, select Exit and then select Restart Now. You should now boot from the attached USB device. Further information on creating the bootable USB device can be found here in the official Microsoft documentation: https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-au/support/storage-files-and-folders/boot-surface-from-usb-recovery-device?os=windows-10 See my full Microsoft Surface Pro 4 review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNttaZR_xmw --- Follow me here --- Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/JarrodsTech Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+JarrodsTech/

Will upgrading the RAM in your laptop increase gaming performance? I've tested this by benchmarking a few different games in a laptop with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB of memory to help you see if adding more RAM will improve FPS. This should give you a good idea on how much RAM you should need for your gaming laptop, as different games have different requirements, some need more or less memory to run efficiently. ► Subscribe for weekly tech videos! https://www.youtube.com/JarrodsTech?sub_confirmation=1 Bay Breeze by FortyThr33 https://soundcloud.com/fortythr33-43 Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported— CC BY 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Music provided by Audio Library https://youtu.be/XER8Zg0ExKU --- Follow me here --- Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/JarrodsTech Google+ - https://plus.google.com/+JarrodsTech/

Nvidia 1060 Max-Q vs 1060 - Laptop Graphics Comparison Benchmarks

06:53
In this video I’ll compare the performance difference between two laptops running an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 and 1060 with Max-Q design. The 1060 with Max-Q is clocked slightly slower in order for it to run cooler and quieter, but how does this affect gaming performance? Although the regular 1060 is more powerful, how much better is it, and is it worth paying extra for in a laptop? I’ll perform some gaming benchmarks and see how well each graphics card does in a series of tests to help you choose between the 1060 with Max-Q or 1060 for your next laptop. In this test we’ll be benchmarking the following games: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Rise of the Tomb Raider Watch Dogs 2 The Witcher 3 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow of War Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation Check out my other benchmark videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFBbwFM8jIbOTCvEC_s_R99iKCxZd2poF Shopping for a laptop with an Nvidia 1060? How To Extend LVM Disk For Linux Virtual Machine On VMware

14:50
In this video I explain how to increase disk space in Linux with LVM by first expanding the hard disk, creating a new partition, expanding the volume group and logical volume and then resizing the file system. This video guide covers an existing (and more detailed) blog post I created which can be found here: http://www.rootusers.com/how-to-increase-the-size-of-a-linux-lvm-by-expanding-the-virtual-machine-disk/ Alternatively, you can also instead add a new disk rather than expand the existing disk as shown in this video by following these steps: http://www.rootusers.com/how-to-increase-the-size-of-a-linux-lvm-by-adding-a-new-disk/ --- Follow me here --- Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/JarrodsTech Google+ - https://plus.google.com/106278187407028513646/

Threadripper Cooling Comparison - Noctua CPU Cooler Differences

05:06
Keeping AMD’s Threadripper CPUs cool is a challenge due to the large number of cores, especially when overclocking. As the TR4 socket is quite large, it’s important to use a cooler that has full coverage of the Threadripper IHS to get optimal cooling. I’ve tested 3 different CPU air coolers from Noctua that cover the full socket against each other to see how they perform, both in terms of temperatures, but also volume at both stock clock speeds and overclocked.
