Alluvial Gold Prospecting - Sluicing for Gold in a Big River

08:35
ALLUVIAL GOLD PROSPECTING - SLUICING FOR GOLD IN A BIG RIVER In this video I talk about Sluicing for Gold in a "Big River". Big Rivers are a completely different dynamic to that of small creeks, for example; from how the water behaves to where and how they deposit gold. I mention the action of the riffles and what you should aim to get the water doing as it runs through your Sluice Box. I illustrate the use of River Rocks to set your Sluice Box. I also touch on one of my favorite places to look for gold in a Big River and exactly what I am targeting. I talk about processing materials before putting them through the Sluice box, and the panning the concentrates. Enjoy, Share, comment and Subscribe. Alluvial Gold Prospecting - How and Where to find Good Gold in a Running Creek

12:38
In this video, I talk about Prospecting for Gold in a running creek. I talk about what to look for and demonstrate my methods of finding and extraction. Some of the best Gold in a creek can actually be some of the easiest to get to...you just need to know where to look. I would rather fill up 1 bucket with good amounts of Gold then 20 with poor amounts. It's all about economy for effort. You will see in this video how I find some tiny Gold Nuggets and lots of "Colour" in only 2 small crevices. Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe. This image is what all prospectors hope for - but for most this is just a dream. Some fortunate few prospectors do strike lucky and our video shows some nice large nuggets being found.. Matt is a professional gold prospector with over 35 years experience in Western Australia. In this short video he describes his recent experience of using the Garrett ATX and shows you some of the large gold nuggets he has found in the period of just a few days in 2014. The nugget in the thumbnail is a cast of the 'Golden Eagle' nugget which was discovered at Larkinville, WA in 1931 and weighed 1135oz. With modern prospecting methods it's only a matter of time before another similar or even larger nugget is found.

Marshall at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California.[1] The news of gold brought some 300,000 people to California from the rest of the United States and abroad.[2] The sudden influx of immigration and gold into the money supply reinvigorated the American economy, and California became one of the few American states to go directly to statehood, in the Compromise of 1850. The Gold Rush initiated the California Genocide, with 100,000 Native Californians dying between 1848 and 1868. By the time it ended, California had gone from a thinly populated ex-Mexican territory to the home state of the first nominee for the Republican Party. The effects of the Gold Rush were substantial. Whole indigenous societies were attacked and pushed off their lands by the gold-seekers, called "forty-niners" (referring to 1849). The first to hear confirmed information of the gold rush were the people in Oregon, the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii), and Latin America, and they were the first to start flocking to the state in late 1848. Of the 300,000 people who came to America during the Gold Rush, approximately half arrived by sea and half came overland on the California Trail and the Gila River trail; forty-niners often faced substantial hardships on the trip. While most of the newly arrived were Americans, the Gold Rush attracted tens of thousands from Latin America, Europe, Australia, and China. Agriculture and ranching expanded throughout the state to meet the needs of the settlers. San Francisco grew from a small settlement of about 200 residents in 1846 to a boomtown of about 36,000 by 1852. Roads, churches, schools and other towns were built throughout California. In 1849 a state constitution was written. The new constitution was adopted by referendum vote, and the future state's interim first governor and legislature were chosen. In September, 1850, California became a state. At the beginning of the Gold Rush, there was no law regarding property rights in the goldfields and a system of "staking claims" was developed. Prospectors retrieved the gold from streams and riverbeds using simple techniques, such as panning. Although the mining caused environmental harm, more sophisticated methods of gold recovery were developed and later adopted around the world. New methods of transportation developed as steamships came into regular service. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hashtags: #History #California #GoldRush #1849 #49ers #fortyniners

Mountain Gold Australia - Episode 1 - A Golden Prospect - Aussie Bloke Prospector

09:59
MOUNTAIN GOLD AUSTRALIA - EPISODE 1 - A GOLDEN PROSPECT Stretching along the Eastern Seaboard of Australia from the tip of Cape York in Far North Queensland to the Grampians of Western Victoria in the South of the continent, the Great Dividing Range has hosted countless GOLD RUSHES over the last 150 years. Join me, in this, my New Series "MOUNTAIN GOLD AUSTRALIA" in which, as it unfolds, I hope to take you on an epic journey as I PROSPECT the Mountain Country of the Great Divide of Eastern Australia. Of the thousands of Creeks, Rivers, Ridges, Gullies and Flats that yielded up their treasures during the Gold Rush years, many records have now been lost in time. For every record we have today of every notable find, rush and lucky strike, it is most likely that, either by neglect, loss or just simple lack of reporting, there are probably 10 more that we will never know of... these are THE LOST; and what of those areas that were altogether missed by the Old Timers and yet still lie undiscovered and undisturbed... these are THE UNKNOWNS. I believe there remain two Golden Frontiers in Australia; in the West, where vast Rivers of Quartz & Ironstone spread out far beyond sun burnt horizons, known to us as the Goldfields of Western Australia; and in the East, those Forgotten and Untouched areas within the Mountain Country of the Great Divide. In this series, it is these LOST and UNKNOWNS that I seek in the Mountain Country of Eastern Australia. As we journey, I will endeavour to employ the OLD TIMERS search methods and where possible, follow their most likely courses of action upon any discoveries of note; and if possible, employ their methods of extraction and processing, within the constraints of "Todays" legal boundaries. This first Episode "A Golden Prospect" finds me in a Rain Forest Creek as I embark on my quest. Watch as I reveal it's secrets and catch a Glimpse of Gold in my very first sample. A likely Prospect that warrants a return; which I surely will for Episode 2. So come and join me as I prospect the MOUNTAIN COUNTRY of Eastern AUSTRALIA Enjoy, Like, Share and Subscribe. Ancient Mining Techniques[History Documentary]HD

45:14
Ancient mining techniques go well back into our history – well back into ourprehistory, in fact. As we progressed through the Stone Age, with more and more sophisticated tools and weapons being designed and developed, so too,our need for more and better raw materials for these implements. Stone and flint led to copper, then bronze, gold, silver, iron… all in the name of progress, war, technology, vanity or greed. In fact, it’s ironic (pun intended) that the substance prized and even mined by our ancient ancestors for some of the earliest stone tools and weapons – flint – was later a hindrance encountered by Classical miners – who were in many cases also Classical minors – in gold mining galleries described by Pliny the Elder in the 1st century AD as “thought to be the hardest thing that exists, except greed for gold, which is the most stubborn of all things. Hydraulic Gold Mining

19:53
This movie is the last remaining part of footage from an old video cassette that I owned. I believe that it is still available from the Empire Mines State Park. I do not own the copyright to this movie and this is being posted here under YouTube's Guidelines for informational and teaching purposes. Then I added pictures on my own of the Malakoff State park from days gone past when mining was active in the area to the end of this movie. This is a great addition to this hydraulic mining playlist, so watch history being taught from long ago & then learn & enjoy.

In this video I show you how to work a DRY Creek bed in order to get most of the Gold, and hopefully the best Gold, in it. I explain what to look for and how to identify where the richest and most concentrated "pockets" are most likely to be. This method is fairly meticulous, but in most cases, ensures you get the "BEST GOLD" if it is there. Enjoy. National Geographic Megastructures - the World s Deepest Gold Mine | BBC Documentary History

44:32
National Geographic Megastructures - the World s Deepest Gold Mine | BBC Documentary History ⏩⏩⏩ SUBSCRIBE to : https://goo.gl/89mjhF National Geographic Megastructures Megastructures is a documentary television series appearing on the National Geographic Channel in the United States and the United Kingdom, Channel 5 in the United Kingdom, France 5 in France, and 7mate in Australia. Each episode is an educational look of varying depth into the construction, operation, and staffing of various structures or construction projects, but not ordinary construction products. Generally containing interviews with designers and project managers, it presents the problems of construction and the methodology or techniques used to overcome obstacles. In some cases (such as the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge and Petronas Towers) this involved the development of new materials or products that are now in general use within the construction industry. Megastructures focuses on constructions that are extreme; in the sense that they are the biggest, tallest, longest, or deepest in the world. Alternatively, a project may appear if it had an element of novelty or are a world first (such as Dubai's Palm Islands). This type of project is known as a megaproject. The series follows similar subjects as the History Channel's Modern Marvels and Discovery Channel's Extreme Engineering, covering areas of architecture, transport, construction and manufacturing. National Geographic (formerly National Geographic Channel and also commercially abbreviated and trademarked as Nat Geo) is the American digital cable and satellite television channel that is owned by National Geographic Partners, majority-owned by 21st Century Fox with the remainder owned by the National Geographic Society.

Alluvial Gold Prospecting - How to get the most Gold from a Dry Creek Bed Part 2

04:42
This video is part 2 of "Alluvial Gold Prospecting - How to get the most Gold from a Dry Creek Bed". In this video, I process the dirt which I scraped up from a small 2 metre squared area of a dry creek bed ( gutter ) shown in the first video. Although the results we're not as good as I had hoped, they were still good. I ended up with around 5 grams of gold including a nice nugget...so around $250 (AUD) for half a days work was a good day indeed. Kenya Miners Part 2: Crushing, grinding the ore, and sluicing gold the traditional African way

08:07
This is our second video in our five part series of our trip to Kenya to install a shaker table to help eliminate the use of mercury by the smalls scale gold miners. We met with Julius who is the president of the MICA gold mining cooperative and donated a shaker table to MICA to show the miners a different technology for gold concentration other than the use of mercury. Once the shaker table was set up the miners were amazed! The shaker table on average recovered 2-3 times more gold from the same material they had been processing with their blanket/burlap sluices and mercury use. The table can also process the material up to 10 times faster than the blanket/burlap sluices. The result being in some cases 30 times more gold for the miners in the same amount of processing time. Stay tuned for more videos of our trip to Kenya. For more information about our shaker table or any of our other products email us at [email protected] or give us a call at 360-595-4445. http://www.mbmmllc.com

How to Find Gold Every Time.

16:37
Too often do I hear the story of prospectors old and new failing to find gold on known gold bearing creeks, even with all the know how and tools. This lead me to believe that there is a fundamental misunderstanding between the knowledge of test panning a creek and the application. You must take many test pans from both likely and unlikely spots. You must take them from different levels in those spot, basically every time you find a soil change, colour, consistency, smell, test it. You must find the best gold in that spot and let that dictate how much dirt you move and with what tools, not the other way around. Just because you brought a high banker does not mean you need to use it. Take regular test pans whilst working the spot to see if the good pay has run out, changed directions or gone deeper. And lastly, the more you test the better your knowledge of any given creek or river will be making it easier in the long term to get right onto pay dirt. There’s more to Australian mining – Rehab (30sec)

00:31
There’s more to Australian mining. Australian mining companies understand land rehabilitation is part of responsible mining and recognise our responsibility as a temporary custodian of land. Mine rehabilitation is highly regulated, better implemented and more accountable than ever before. The industry’s approach to land rehabilitation has improved significantly over past decades, and we work to improve rehabilitation methods to ensure mining’s compatibility with current and future land uses such as farming. Find out more about the many examples of successful mine rehabilitation by Australian mining companies here: https://www.minerals.org.au/mine-rehabilitation-case-studies
