Zodiac Killer 340 cipher solution!

01:04
After working towards breaking the Zodiac Killers Z340 cypher on and off for the past 3 years. I am prepared to share my findings. I believe through my research that this is the most coherent and plausible decipherment of the Z340 cypher to date. My cipher solution is using just the simple symbol being replaced by a letter technique (like the 408 was solved), no strange math, no weird jumping all over the place, no anagrams (which is what almost all 340 solutions are, which can lead to any answer), just the simple technique used to solve the first cipher, but with the small twist. Also I had kept in mind a few years back the FBI has said they believe half the cipher could be mumbo jumbo to throw people off, but half does look to be correct. I noticed the "+" symbol followed by the semi filled circle followed by another "+" vertically directly in the middle which instantly made me think of the "ArA" in "Paradice" on the halloween card (which you can see in the video ), so I put that in which then made "ire" appear attached to the bottom of "paradice" - of course "fire" and I went from there (with a few other things that came to mind), the twist being the "Paradice Slaves" cross (the same as the halloween card) and I believe the 9x9 quadrant, which the word "rope" (automatically making the second word "rope" in the corner reverse "L" shape formed a kind of border in my head). The main part which I am quite sure of is the "Paradice Slaves", "By rope, by fire, by knife, by gun" parts replicating the halloween card. That is the solid core of my solution, and I believe the halloween card was literally giving them the answer to the cipher. The "by Rader" (the BTK killer) part is of course up for speculation, but another really intriguing thing about my solution is that in the word "Rader" the letter "D" in his name, is the cipher symbol for "Z" - and as we know sometimes the Zodiac signed letters with just his symbol and a "Z" - which if my solution was correct could imply he was signing it "D" - aka Dennis (Rader). Just an interesting coincidence. I have a lot of theories and some psychological theories as well in regards to that, but for now the main focus should be on the core of the solution which is the halloween card replication. This video shows the original Z340 cipher, followed by the halloween card the Zodiac sent almost a year later, followed by my solution. ZODIAC KILLER IDENTIFIED: Meeting and Interviews.

04:22
Part 10 of meeting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soYIxV1TkSQ&t=522s You have Don Harden distancing himself from the cipher because he was the Zodiac. He said Bettye spotted the code and tried to get him to help her with it. He then said he agreed to help which makes it look like he couldn't be Zodiac when actually he was. Don's daughter says Don was the one to start on the cipher and her mother joined in 2-3 hours later and asked him what he was doing. CRACKING THE CODE Harden's effort comes to life in movie 'Zodiac' By LESLIE ESCOBAR The Salinas Californian When Don Harden first learned of a mysterious cryptogram that might reveal the identity of a serial killer in the Bay Area, he wasn't particularly interested in tackling its challenge. The year was 1969, and Harden's wife at the time, Betty, had spotted the infamous "Zodiac Killer" puzzle in the San Francisco Chronicle. She tried to persuade Don, a history and economics teacher at North Salinas High School, to help her solve it. Don Harden declined, but not for long. "She didn't know what the heck she was doing," Harden recalled earlier this month from his home of six years in Fountain Hills, Ariz. "So finally, to get her off my back, I said, 'OK, let me see it.' " Just past midnight on Aug. 8 - after five days of nearly nonstop work in their Chestnut Street home in North Salinas -Harden cracked the code. But the author of the code, a Northern California serial murderer dubbed the Zodiac Killer, was never found. Now, almost 40 years after Harden's eureka moment, the Zodiac Killer is back - this time as portrayed in a film, "Zodiac," set for release March 2. The movie details how the Zodiac Killer taunted police and the press with letters and phone calls in which he claimed responsibility for murders throughout the Bay Area. He's thought to have killed at least five people between December 1968 and October 1969. On July 31, 1969, the killer sent three letters to the Chronicle, the Vallejo Times-Herald and the San Francisco Examiner, according to various Web sites devoted to the case, which became one of California's most followed serial-killer sagas of the 1960s. The author took credit for three murders and included with each letter a part of a cryptogram. The writer said that when solved, the cryptogram would include his identity. In an article published in The Salinas Californian on Aug. 9, 1969, Harden said the writer of the code used 29 different symbols in the message and 12 characters for the letter E alone. Adding to the confusion was the fact that the spelling was "rather poor and in some places he had made errors in the use of his own cipher," Harden said in that story. According to the 1969 article, the message read, "I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forrest (sic). When I die I will be reborn in paradise and all I have killed will become my slaves. I will not give you my name because you will try to slow down or stop my collecting of slaves." After decoding the message, Harden said he sent it to the Chronicle, who then forwarded it to investigators of the case. "I got it done, sent it in, they checked it out and that was it," he said. "So I thought, 'Well, I didn't want to get too much attention.'" While the Zodiac Killer sent more cryptograms to newspapers in subsequent years, only the first set was ever solved. Harden, now 78, said while local attention was minimal, but his students at North Salinas High were enthusiastic about his role in the case. "My class said, 'Come on, tell us about it,'" Harden said. "So, I had to take one day, and we didn't do any work in class and I basically broke down the code." Big-name stars Don and Betty Harden divorced in the 1980s. Don Harden married his new wife, Dee, 10 years ago. Harden said he became aware a movie was being made after receiving a call from Paramount Pictures, the distributor of "Zodiac," last year. David Fincher, director of "Se7en" and "Fight Club," is directing the movie. It stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Jake Gyllenhaal. According to the official Web site for "Zodiac," the movie follows four men whose "lives and careers are built and destroyed by the endless trail of clues." Two sources close to Paramount said the characters of Harden and ex-wife Betty appear in "Zodiac." And according to The Internet Movie Database, actress Gloria Grant plays Betty Harden, who died several years ago. Grant had a small role in the 2005 film "Rumor Has It." Don Harden's name doesn't appear on IMDB's cast list for the film. Dee Harden calls her husband's accomplishment "amazing" and said the couple are planning to see "Zodiac." "Oh, of course we will," she said. "We're big movie buffs." Don Harden, however, said he prefers a sense of anonymity. "I think there might be a few people I told," he said. "But I didn't want people to think that's the only thing I ever did in my life."

Sight Word Bingo Cards

08:51
Bingo card maker software - http://www.bingocardprinter.com/ - Makes it easy to create custom bingo cards for education and ESL lessons, including sight word bingo cards based on the Dolch sight word list. Sight words are words that children need to learn to recognize and read by sight in order to achieve reading fluency. The most commonly used list of sight words is known as the "Dolch Sight word list", and was compiled by Edward Dolch pHD in 1948 based on a review of children's books. There are of course other sight word lists in use too. In any case, whichever particular list you choose to work with, the fact is that many sight words are not only common, but also often hae irregular spellings which can not be sounded out. Teachers of K-12 education are generally aware of the importance of sight words, and hence are usually on the look out for news ways to practise them with their students. One idea that many teachers have found effective is using the game of bingo. The game is played exactly like a standard game of bingo, but instead of the cards being printed with numbers, the bingo cards are instead printed with different random arrangements and selections of sight words. You then simply play bingo, with the teacher taking the role of bingo caller. The beauty of this approach is bingo is incredibly easy to learn - even young children can master the rules quickly - but it provides a useful and enjoyable framework for rehearsing these words with students. Best of all, the fun and competitive element of playing a game, not only helps maintain students' interest and attention, but can also serves as strong motivation for students to master these sight words. The key requirement for playing sight word bingo is simply a set of bingo cards (also sometimes known as "bingo sheets" or "bingo boards") which are printed with a selection of sight words. It is possible to buy such bingo cards, but they can be expensive, and can not be customized at all. A better, and cheaper approach is to get your computer to do the work - you can use software called Bingo Card Printer - http://www.bingocardprinter.com/ - to create your own custom bingo cards on any topic and with any content you like. Moreover the program includes ready-to-use Dolch sight word templates which you can use, or you can enter your own word list if you prefer.
