Review project HIBTC and Program FomoHiBT

07:29
HiBTC - Shared Digital Asset Trading Platform First of all, using the new design concept and leading technology, HiBTC will provide a safe, efficient and convenient digital asset trading platform for all participants. In HiBTC, regardless of the size of the transaction, each participant can effectively achieve the investment objectives without worrying about personal privacy protection or the security of digital assets. In addition, the professional financial unit will provide investors with rich risk hedging instruments and investment target choices. Second, HiBTC is committed to creating a completely transparent, fair and shared investment environment. HiBTC Token (HIBT) is the only token issued by the HiBTC platform, not only as a digital asset, but also representing all rights and interests of the HiBTC platform. HiBTC promises to regularly allocate the platform revenues to all HIBT holders; at the same time, the “transaction + token holding” mining model (“proof of mining hours + proof of equity” mechanism) is adopted, and 50% of the HIBT issued is rewarded to users through transaction processing fee mining. Not only that, HiBTC will also introduce a “Dividend Bonus Program”. Users can voluntarily join the program with part or all of the HIBT it holds, which will enjoy different proportions of dividend bonus in addition to the basic dividends. In summary, when a user makes any transaction on the platform, in addition to obtaining the target assets, it can also obtain [mining generated HIBT + basic dividends + dividend bonus]. All of the above mining and dividend data will be made public in real time and are truly transparent and accessible. Except the equity attribute, the asset attribute of HIBT is also important. The stability of HIBT price has a direct effect on the users’ enthusiasm for participating in the transactions on the HiBTC platform. In order to guarantee a sustainable and robust development of HiBTC, we will make the “Holder Shared Fund Account” public to all users right after the platform is put into use. The HIBTs unlocked in the account will be 100% locked in the fund account until the mining is finished and won’t flow into the secondary market. The dividends these HIBTs enjoys will be first used to pay for the dividend bonus generated in the Dividend Bonus Program; and the rest will be used to buy back the HIBTs in the secondary market, which will be locked in the fund account, too. When the mining is finished, all assets in the Holder Shared Fund Account, including HIBTs and dividends, will completely belong to all the HIBT holders, and the specific disposal plan will be made public in time after the mining is finished. Finally, HiBTC hopes to break the barriers to information asymmetry between shareholders and management, and between companies and users under the traditional “firm” model, and to build a co-governed and shared organizational structure so that each HIBT holder has the right to participate in making the platform business decisions. HiBTC introduces the world’s first exchange “1+1” currency listing dual-channel mode, which abandons the traditional fee-based currency listing mode and opens the HIBT holder recommendation channel. Scales of Measurement - Nominal, Ordinal, Interval, Ratio (Part 1) - Introductory Statistics

05:52
This video reviews the scales of measurement covered in introductory statistics: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio (Part 1 of 2). Scales of Measurement Nominal, Ordinal, Interval, Ratio YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/statisticsinstructor Subscribe today! Lifetime access to SPSS videos: http://tinyurl.com/m2532td Video Transcript: In this video we'll take a look at what are known as the scales of measurement. OK first of all measurement can be defined as the process of applying numbers to objects according to a set of rules. So when we measure something we apply numbers or we give numbers to something and this something is just generically an object or objects so we're assigning numbers to some thing or things and when we do that we follow some sort of rules. Now in terms of introductory statistics textbooks there are four scales of measurement nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. We'll take a look at each of these in turn and take a look at some examples as well, as the examples really help to differentiate between these four scales. First we'll take a look at nominal. Now in a nominal scale of measurement we assign numbers to objects where the different numbers indicate different objects. The numbers have no real meaning other than differentiating between objects. So as an example a very common variable in statistical analyses is gender where in this example all males get a 1 and all females get a 2. Now the reason why this is nominal is because we could have just as easily assigned females a 1 and males a 2 or we could have assigned females 500 and males 650. It doesn't matter what number we come up with as long as all males get the same number, 1 in this example, and all females get the same number, 2. It doesn't mean that because females have a higher number that they're better than males or males are worse than females or vice versa or anything like that. All it does is it differentiates between our two groups. And that's a classic nominal example. Another one is baseball uniform numbers. Now the number that a player has on their uniform in baseball it provides no insight into the player's position or anything like that it just simply differentiates between players. So if someone has the number 23 on their back and someone has the number 25 it doesn't mean that the person who has 25 is better, has a higher average, hits more home runs, or anything like that it just means they're not the same playeras number 23. So in this example its nominal once again because the number just simply differentiates between objects. Now just as a side note in all sports it's not the same like in football for example different sequences of numbers typically go towards different positions. Like linebackers will have numbers that are different than quarterbacks and so forth but that's not the case in baseball. So in baseball whatever the number is it provides typically no insight into what position he plays. OK next we have ordinal and for ordinal we assign numbers to objects just like nominal but here the numbers also have meaningful order. So for example the place someone finishes in a race first, second, third, and so on. If we know the place that they finished we know how they did relative to others. So for example the first place person did better than second, second did better than third, and so on of course right that's obvious but that number that they're assigned one, two, or three indicates how they finished in a race so it indicates order and same thing with the place finished in an election first, second, third, fourth we know exactly how they did in relation to the others the person who finished in third place did better than someone who finished in fifth let's say if there are that many people, first did better than third and so on. So the number for ordinal once again indicates placement or order so we can rank people with ordinal data. OK next we have interval. In interval numbers have order just like ordinal so you can see here how these scales of measurement build on one another but in addition to ordinal, interval also has equal intervals between adjacent categories and I'll show you what I mean here with an example. So if we take temperature in degrees Fahrenheit the difference between 78 degrees and 79 degrees or that one degree difference is the same as the difference between 45 degrees and 46 degrees. One degree difference once again. So anywhere along that scale up and down the Fahrenheit scale that one degree difference means the same thing all up and down that scale. OK so if we take eight degrees versus nine degrees the difference there is one degree once again. That's a classic interval scale right there with those differences are meaningful and we'll contrast this with ordinal in just a few moments but finally before we do let's take a look at ratio.

28c3 - Data Mining the Israeli Census

This video is part of the Infosec Video Collection at SecurityTube.net: http://www.securitytube.net 28c3 - Data Mining the Israeli Census http://events.ccc.de/congress/2011/Fahrplan/attachments/2010_28c3-dmic.pdf Data Mining the Israeli Census Insights into a publicly available registry The entire Israeli civil registry database has been leaked to the internet several times over the past decade. In this talk, we examine interesting data that can be mined and extracted from such database. Additionally, we will review the implications of such data being publicly available in light of the upcoming biometric database. The Israeli census database has been freely available on the Internet since 2001. The database has been illegally leaked due to incompetent data security policies in the Ministry of Interior of Israel, which is responsible for the management of the Israeli census. The data available includes all personal data of every Israeli citizen: name, ID number, date and location of birth, address, phone number and marital status, as well as linkage to parents and spouses. In this talk we discuss various statistics, trends and anomalies that such data provides us with insight to. Personal details will obviously be left out of the talk, though it is important to note that any person who wishes to retrieve such details can easily do so. We will end the talk with a discussion about upcoming and relevant privacy issues in light of Israel's soon-to-be biometric database.

Learning Defect Predictors from Static Code Attributes: Lessons from the Tren...

53:11
Google Tech Talks October 29, 2008 ABSTRACT For six years, I have worked on learning quality predictors from NASA data. Based on that experimence, this talk offers the following lessons from the trenches: 1) Real world data collection is more like ambulance chasing that bus driving. The old DoD model of rigorous process control just breaks down in the modern era of distributed software development. Rather than lament lack of formal process, we should adapt our learning methods to handle the idiosyncrasies of our data. 2) Accuracy, correlation and precision and not accurate or precise and may not correlate with any decision making process. This is especially true for data sets where only a small percentage of the data contains the target concept. 3) Static code attributes are a wide and shallow well- easy to get to the bottom, very hard to get much further. Our learners may have learned all they can learn from these attributes. 4) The only way up is sideways. My data miners have struck a performance ceiling and the only way up is to change the performance target. 5) The performance ceiling is very close- we can exploit that. Rather than large-scale automatic methods, it may be more productive to explore human-in-the-loop interactive learning strategies. 6) We can talk, but will they listen? Many times, I have found a clear signal in a software engineering data set. Clearly, our learners are good enough to assist managers in the difficult task of managing software projects. Sadly, all too often, some management edict is applied that effectively ends that project (e.g. collection of that data source is terminated). I offer some speculations on this peculiar effect. SmartAdP: Visual Analytics of Large-scale Taxi Trajectories for Selecting Billboard Locations

05:09
The author's personal website: http://dongyu.name More information please refer to the paper: http://dongyu.name/papers/tvcg_2016_dongyu_smartadp.pdf Online System: http://smartadp.chinacloudapp.cn/ Abstract: The problem of formulating solutions immediately and comparing them rapidly for billboard placements has plagued advertising planners for a long time, owing to the lack of efficient tools for in-depth analyses to make informed decisions. In this study, we attempt to employ visual analytics that combines the state-of-the-art mining and visualization techniques to tackle this problem using large-scale GPS trajectory data. In particular, we present SmartAdP, an interactive visual analytics system that deals with the two major challenges including finding good solutions in a huge solution space and comparing the solutions in a visual and intuitive manner. An interactive framework that integrates a novel visualization-driven data mining model enables advertising planners to effectively and efficiently formulate good candidate solutions. In addition, we propose a set of coupled visualizations: a solution view with metaphor-based glyphs to visualize the correlation between different solutions; a location view to display billboard locations in a compact manner; and a ranking view to present multi-typed rankings of the solutions. This system has been demonstrated using case studies with a real-world dataset and domain-expert interviews. Our approach can be adapted for other location selection problems such as selecting locations of retail stores or restaurants using trajectory data.

YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/statisticsinstructor Video Transcript: In this video we'll take a look at how to enter questionnaire or survey data into SPSS and this is something that a lot of people have questions with so it's important to make sure when you're working with SPSS in particular when you're entering data from a survey that you know how to do. Let's go ahead and take a few moments to look at that. And here you see on the right-hand side of your screen I have a questionnaire, a very short sample questionnaire that I want to enter into SPSS so we're going to create a data file and in this questionnaire here I've made a few modifications. I've underlined some variable names here and I'll talk about that more in a minute and I also put numbers in parentheses to the right of these different names and I'll also explain that as well. Now normally when someone sees this survey we wouldn't have gender underlined for example nor would we have these numbers to the right of male and female. So that's just for us, to help better understand how to enter these data. So let's go ahead and get started here. In SPSS the first thing we need to do is every time we have a possible answer such as male or female we need to create a variable in SPSS that will hold those different answers. So our first variable needs to be gender and that's why that's underlined there just to assist us as we're doing this. So we want to make sure we're in the Variable View tab and then in the first row here under Name we want to type gender and then press ENTER and that creates the variable gender. Now notice here I have two options: male and female. So when people respond or circle or check here that they're male, I need to enter into SPSS some number to indicate that. So we always want to enter numbers whenever possible into SPSS because SPSS for the vast majority of analyses performs statistical analyses on numbers not on words. So I wouldn't want and enter male, female, and so forth. I want to enter one's, two's and so on. So notice here I just arbitrarily decided males get a 1 and females get a 2. It could have been the other way around but since male was the first name listed I went and gave that 1 and then for females I gave a 2. So what we want to do in our data file here is go head and go to Values, this column, click on the None cell, notice these three dots appear they're called an ellipsis, click on that and then our first value notice here 1 is male so Value of 1 and then type Label Male and then click Add. And then our second value of 2 is for females so go ahead and enter 2 for Value and then Female, click Add and then we're done with that you want to see both of them down here and that looks good so click OK. Now those labels are in here and I'll show you how that works when we enter some numbers in a minute. OK next we have ethnicity so I'm going to call this variable ethnicity. So go ahead and type that in press ENTER and then we're going to the same thing we're going to create value labels here so 1 is African-American, 2 is Asian-American, and so on. And I'll just do that very quickly so going to Values column, click on the ellipsis. For 1 we have African American, for 2 Asian American, 3 is Caucasian, and just so you can see that here 3 is Caucasian, 4 is Hispanic, and other is 5, so let's go ahead and finish that. Four is Hispanic, 5 is other, so let's go to do that 5 is other. OK and that's it for that variable. Now we do have it says please state I'll talk about that next that's important when they can enter text we have to handle that differently.

How to Create a Stock Management Database in Microsoft Access - Full Tutorial with Free Download

26:08
This tutorial will explain how to use Microsoft Access to create a working stock control database with some basic features. Follow along with our free download of the basic stock database we created in this video: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/free-access-stock-control-database.asp All you need to get started is a copy of Access and a beginner's knowledge of how it works. Get more help and advice on Excel, Access or VBA projects: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/youtube_links.html If you want to find out whether a bespoke database would be right for you, get in contact: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/contact.asp Learn more about our work: http://www.software-matters.co.uk/projects-blog.html Music by Kevin MacLeod http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ We have now uploaded a no music version of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=049IlFNcrl0 --------------------------------------------- If you found this video helpful, please consider giving it a Like, leaving a comment or sharing it. More from the Software-Matters channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk-MVP61VQHMdfETVNQEFww Visit the Software-Matters website: http://www.software-matters.co.uk Software-Matters is based in Gillingham, Dorset, in the south-west of the United Kingdom (UK), near Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire and the cities of Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Bristol, Bath and Salisbury. ---------------------------------------------- MORE INFORMATION: To follow this tutorial you will need a full copy of Microsoft Access. The video was made using Access 2010, however the process is very similar in Access 2007 and Access 2013. We'll be going as far as setting up the database tables, which traditionally would be stored in a so-called 'back end' database file, while forms, queries and report, which are not covered in any details by this tutorial, would be stored in a separate 'front end' database file. The tables from the back end are then 'linked' to the front end, so that it behaved as if all the objects were in one file. In some places we have made the design deliberately simple in order to keep our relationships clean and the number of tables low. This helps those new to Access to get their heads around how to create the database, but for actual use, might cause problems. We recommend that you learn more about database design from other sources before beginning your project if you intend to use it for a real business. Key topics to consider are: database normalisation theory; Inner, Left, Right and Outer Joins; Basic SQL (structured query language) use; Software Development Methodologies; UX (user experience) enhancement techniques; and of course, the very specific needs of your business, project or client. All together, a broad knowledge of these topics will allow you to design your tables with enough foresight to make the setting up of the queries, forms and reports you'll need later as easy as possible. Plus it should make the system easy to use and less likely to be corrupted or crash. Keep in mind that even if your stock database needs don't fit very well with our example parts database, or if you need an entirely different kind of system like an accounts database or CRM database, the lessons in this tutorial can still apply.

Pat Dorsey: "The Little Book that Builds Wealth" | Talks at Google

01:10:15
What does it mean for a company to have a moat? What are the key drivers to valuation? Pat Dorsey will use examples to shed light on these, and more questions. About the Book: Capitalism works. That’s why most businesses with high returns on capital attract competition that forces down profitability over time. However, a small minority of companies are able to defy the laws of economic gravity by creating competitive advantages, or “economic moats” that insulate them from competition and allow them to maintain high returns on capital. After spending fifteen years analyzing thousands of companies, Pat has identified a handful of structural characteristics that create competitive advantage. He will discuss these characteristics, how management teams can create and destroy competitive advantage, and how he applies competitive analysis in managing institutional capital at Dorsey Asset Management. About the author: Pat is the founder of Dorsey Asset Management, which manages concentrated global portfolios for institutional investors. Prior to starting Dorsey Asset, Pat was Director of Research for Sanibel Captiva Trust, an independent trust company with approximately $1 billion in assets under management serving high net worth clients. From 2000 to 2011, Pat was Director of Equity Research for Morningstar, where he led the growth of Morningstar’s equity research group from 10 to over 100 analysts. Pat developed Morningstar’s economic moat ratings, as well as the methodology behind Morningstar's framework for analyzing competitive advantage. Pat is also the author of two books — The Five Rules for Successful Stock Investing and The Little Book that Builds Wealth — and has been quoted in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, the New York Times, and BusinessWeek. Pat holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in government from Wesleyan University. He is a CFA charterholder.

101 Great Answers To The Toughest Interview Questions ©

03:02:07
This is an excellent guide to attend interviews. 101 Great Answers To The Toughest Interview Questions contains a collection of all possible interview questions and how to answer and face them in a typical interview. A prospective job seeker can also get excellent tips to cracking hard interview questions in this video. Learn to crack your interview today! The interviewing process is a kind of sale. In this case, you are the product—and the salesperson. If you show up unprepared to talk about your unique features and benefits, you're not likely to motivate an interviewer to "buy." The sad fact is that many job candidates are unprepared to talk about themselves. You may have mailed a gorgeous resume and cover letter. You may be wearing the perfect clothes on the day of the interview. But if you can't convince the interviewer—face to face—that you are the right person for the job, you aren't likely to make the sale. Too many candidates hesitate after the first open-ended question, then stumble and stutter their way through a disjointed litany of resume "sound bites." Other interviewees recite canned replies that only highlight their memory skills. The days of filling out the standard application and chatting your way through one or two interviews are gone. These days, interviewers and hiring managers are reluctant to leave anything to chance. Many have begun to experiment with the latest techniques for data-gathering and analysis. For employers, interviewing has become a full-fledged science. More employers seem to be looking for a special kind of employee—someone with experience, confidence, and the initiative to learn what he or she needs to know. Someone who requires very little supervision. Someone with a hands-on attitude—from beginning to end. Because employers can't tell all that from a job application and a handshake, here's what they're making you do: Pass the test(s). You'll probably have to go through more interviews than your predecessors for the same job—no matter what your level of expertise. Knowledge and experience still give you an inside edge. But these days, you'll need stamina, too. Your honesty, your intelligence, your mental health—even the toxicity of your blood—may be measured before you can be considered fully assessed. Brave more interviews. You may also have to tiptoe through a mine field of different types of interview situations—and keep your head—to survive as a new hire. Don't go out and subscribe to a human resources journal. Just do all you can to remain confident and flexible—and ready with your answers. No matter what kind of interview you find yourself in, this approach should carry you through with flying colors. Let's take a brief, no-consequences tour of the interview circuit. What (Who) are You Up Against? There are three predominant interviewing types or styles: the Telephone Screener, the Human Screen, and the Manager. Which is which, and why would someone be considered one or the other? While personal temperament is one factor, the adoption of one or the other style is primarily a function of the interviewer's role in the organization and his or her daily workload. The Human Screen Many human resource and personnel professionals fall into this category. For these people, interviewing is not simply just a once-a-quarter or once-a-month event, but rather a key part of their daily job description. They meet and interview many people, and are more likely than either of the other two categories to consider an exceptional applicant for more than one possible opening within the organization. A primary objective of the Human Screen is to develop a strong group of candidates for Managers (see category three) to interview in person. To do this, of course, they must fend off many applicants and callers—a daunting task, because the Human Screen or the department in which he or she works is often the only contact provided in employment advertisements. Among the most common reasons for removal from the Human Screen's "hot" list are: lack of formal or informal qualifications as outlined in the organization's job description; sudden changes in hiring priorities and personnel requirements; poor performance during the in-person interview itself; and inaction due to the Human Screen's uncertainty about your current status or contact information. That last reason is more common than you might imagine. Human Screens are constantly swamped with phone calls, resumes, and unannounced visits from hopeful applicants. Odds are that despite their best efforts, they sometimes lose track of qualified people. How great leaders inspire action | Simon Sinek

18:35
http://www.ted.com Simon Sinek presents a simple but powerful model for how leaders inspire action, starting with a golden circle and the question "Why?" His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King, and the Wright brothers -- and as a counterpoint Tivo, which (until a recent court victory that tripled its stock price) appeared to be struggling. Jim O'Shaughnessy: "What Works on Wall Street" | Talks at Google

01:03:14
What it takes to be a successful active investor. Hint, it’s much harder than you think. Contrast active and passive equity investing. Risk/rewards. Conclusion—Investors who do not have the following traits and emotional quality should index their portfolios. I find they are the majority of investors today. Also discussion of points of failure for passive and active investors. What traits and emotional characteristics are required to succeed as an active investor? A true long-term perspective on their investments. Discussion of Evolution and why it hampers long-term thinking. Discussion of behavioral biases that hamper successful long-term active investing. Power Point illustrations. Successful active investors value process over outcome. Short-term focus of investors is killing returns. Why you need access to truly long-term data to make intelligent choice. Successful active investors generally ignore forecasts and predictions. Discussion of studies proving forecasts and predictions are virtually worthless; illustrations documenting the failure of forecasts; both within markets and in outside professions. Successful active investors are patient and persistent. Discussion of great investors who may have very different styles, but all share the trait of patience and persistence. Successful active investors have a strong mental attitude. Successful investors are made, not born. Discussion of how successful active investors have a mental attitude bordering on stoicism; how they control how they interpret the world. Tools to use to help you succeed as an active long-term investor. Long-term data uncovered by What Works on Wall Street that you can use to guide your investment strategy. The importance of value; momentum; financial strength and earnings quality in putting together your portfolio. A highlight of stocks with high versus low shareholder yield (Cash dividend %+Bet Buyback %); it’s efficacy since the 1920s What NOT to own, lottery stocks versus the market. The importance of a stock’s market capitalization—the most profitable stocks come from the smallest part of the market (Micro cap stocks) Putting it all together—should you be an active or passive investor? Weight of the evidence for passive and active investing Which type of investor are you? Getting the best out of the style you choose. Discussion and Q/A. This talk moderated by Saurabh Madaan.

Centralized Collection and Control of Personal Data: Due for Disruption or Unstoppable Trend?

01:00:07
Talk by Arvind Narayanan at Mozilla July 2012. Centralized Collection and Control of Personal Data: Due for Disruption or Unstoppable Trend? While the Internet was conceived as a decentralized network, the most widely used web applications today tend toward centralization. Control increasingly rests with centralized service providers who, as a consequence, have also amassed unprecedented amounts of data about the behaviors and personalities of individuals. Developers, regulators, and consumer advocates have looked to alternative decentralized architectures as the natural response to threats posed by these centralized services. The result has been a great variety of solutions that include personal data stores (PDS), infomediaries, Vendor Relationship Management (VRM) systems, and federated and distributed social networks. Wikipedia lists over 40 distributed social networks! And yet, for all these efforts, decentralized personal data architectures have seen little adoption. In this talk, based primarily on a recent position paper [1], I will argue that decentralized architectures face tough barriers to adoption, and even if adopted, will not necessarily provide the privacy benefits that are typically ascribed to them. I will then present recommendations for working toward more achievable goals, with particular emphasis on the role of browser vendors.
