The Evolution of Python Packaging at Facebook
Dan Reif https://2016.pycon-au.org/schedule/131/view_talk With tens of millions of Python invocations every day, what’s a packager to do? The answer selected must account for the insanity of a deeply-heterogeneous production environment: different kernels, different OS distributions, even different versions of system Python. It also needs enough context to carry with it a consistent reference point for when it was packaged relative to the work of thousands of engineers in a single, unified source control tree. Lastly, at Facebook scale with hundreds of thousands of servers, every byte sent over the network and stored on disk counts, and every CPU cycle wasted can create a myriad of challenges associated with data center operations management. Sure, it’d be easy to show what a beautiful, easy packaging format we’ve developed at Facebook, and sing its praises, but that’s not what this talk is about. Instead, we’ll get into the nitty-gritty, and talk about hard tradeoffs that happen when developing a system in the real world. This is an in-depth look at how Facebook’s packaging has evolved, warts and speed bumps included. Some of the design goals we addressed (and/or issues we hit!) included: * Synchronizing and pinning versioning of underlying compiled libraries across related tools * Running the package as a transparently-Pythonic command-line utility, à la shebang, so we could do in-place replacements of packages written in other languages (e.g. C++) * Optimizing package size transferred across the network * Optimizing package sizes on disk * Minimizing package launch times * Handling packages launched from a network-FS location that subsequently goes offline Attendees will learn about the different tools and techniques we used to solve these challenges, as well as the reasoning behind any trade offs that were made.

Testing Assumptions - Practical Machine Learning Tutorial with Python p.12
We've been learning about regression, and even coded our own very simple linear regression algorithm. Along with that, we've also built a coefficient of determination algorithm to check for the accuracy and reliability of our best-fit line. We've discussed and shown how a best-fit line may not be a great fit, but also explained why our example was correct directionally, even if it was not exact. Now, however, we are at the point where we're using two top-level algorithms, which are subsequently comprised of a handful of smaller algorithms. As we continue building this hierarchy of algorithms, we might wind up finding ourselves in trouble if just one of them have a tiny error, so we want to test our assumptions. https://pythonprogramming.net/sample-data-testing-machine-learning-tutorial/ https://twitter.com/sentdex https://www.facebook.com/pythonprogramming.net/ https://plus.google.com/+sentdex

Boelens Python research in the field! w/Ari Flagle
Ari Flagle shares what it takes to conduct research in the field. Please consider contributing for his upcoming trip. All Proceeds from the shirts goes straight to Ari. This enables him to continue his research in New Guinea. Shirts: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/boelens-python-research-conservation?ref=copy-link_social_desktop-campaign-page-share-top-v3&utm_campaign=desktop-campaign-page-share-top-v3&utm_content=boelens-python-research-conservation&utm_medium=social&utm_source=copy-link&side=front&type=1&zoom=false Ari says on his site " I have been truly blessed to have been able to travel to this incredible place called New Guinea for 10 years. I have developed life lasting relationships with local people that work hands on with these incredible animals. My main focus regarding this species is to gain a better understanding of this snakes natural behavior and ecology. It has only been within the last few years that we have been making positive leaps towards greater captive success. My goal is to be able to utilize the wild behavior and data to help strengthen our captive understanding of the species making sure we are doing everything we can correctly while we are caring for them. The information that can be used with our animals that are currently in the hands of private collectors and professional facilities can be the starting point of success for the future. This in turn will help in elevating excessive over collection of Boelens pythons. Currently there are three areas that these snakes are being collected from. The prominent spine of mountains referred to as the New Guinea Highlands, dominates the geography of the island, stretching over 1,600 km (1,000 mi) from the 'head' to the 'tail'. Boelens pythons in my opinion aren’t at risk at this specific moment of disappearing from New Guinea. However that could that could change at anytime. The areas that they inhabit have unfortunate interest from mining and deforestation. This is more of a threat to the species then collection in my opinion. There are lots of areas for isolated population to reside that are inaccessible to people to reach.. I am also working with the local people and giving them a better understanding of why not to over collect the snake and how important it is to not explote them. I have been traveling to different sites observing nesting areas and collecting basic population assessments." https://www.projectblackpython.org/ https://www.facebook.com/portcitypythons Instagram @portcitypythons Twitter @portcitypythons http://www.Portcitypythons.com [email protected] CHECK OUT OUR PODCAST: https://www.facebook.com/https://soundcloud.com/joe-phelan-194475994 Some of my favorite reptile supplies! It's very popular because it's easy to learn and use, runs on all operating systems and allows you to build a broad variety of programs: Be that web applications, desktop applications, utility scripts or using it for data science and machine learning. In this course, you'll learn Python from scratch - and you'll do so whilst building your own Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. These are of course also highly trending topics and not a lot of people understand what a Blockchain really is. As a nice side-effect, you will know how a Blockchain works once you completed this course. It's an exciting course project that allows you to learn and apply Python to something you know and you can use. Why Python? As written above, Python is both easy-to-use and extremely versatile and powerful at the same time. Certainly not the worst combination. If you check it on Google trends (and compare it to other programming languages), you'll see that it's very popular these days. It's being used by almost any important company - be that Google, Amazon or Facebook. It's used to run web applications, scripts, desktop programs and machine learning algorithms. This course sets the basics for all these use-cases! Why Blockchain? I believe that you learn something best if you directly apply it to a real-world project. And the Blockchain technology is an exciting trend which is there to stay. In this course, you'll learn a lot about the core concepts of the Blockchain and you'll see how Python can be used for the many aspects that make up a Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. In my opinion, a perfect course project is challenging, interesting, something you know from real-life but also not overly complex. And that's all the case for the Blockchain! It poses some nice challenges where a lot of different Python features can be used to overcome them. It also is something we hear about all the time and yet no one knows how it works. And we can dive into the core Blockchain concepts without spending 100+ hours working on it. Who's teaching you? My name is Maximilian Schwarzmüller and I'm a freelance developer. My focus is on web development but I've been working with Python for many years. It's actually one of the first languages I started with when I was 13. I'm the creator of many 5 star bestseller courses here on Udemy and I love diving into new technologies. That's why I had to dive into this whole Blockchain thing when it became more popular and why I chose it as a project for this course. I can't wait to welcome you on board of this course and I hope you'll enjoy it just as much as I did creating it! :-) What's in the course? Great question! Here's a brief summary: A summary of Python and the Blockchain technology All the base Python syntax you need to know (variables, operators, functions, ...) Loops and conditional statements More complex data structures like tuples or dictionaries A closer look at built-in functions and the standard library Python ships with String manipulation How to work with files Error handling Debugging Object-oriented programming with classes and inheritance Internal & external modules (packages) How to spin up an Http server with the Flask package Handling Http requests (sending & receiving) And more!
Linkliste http://www.imdb.com/robots.txt http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2379713/ https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robots_Exclusion_Standard http://www.imdb.com/conditions http://www.rottentomatoes.com/robots.txt

Modeling Evolution with Tensorflow.js
Neuroevolution is a technique that uses evolutionary algorithms to generate artificial neural networks (ANN), parameters, topology and rules. We can think of it as an optimization strategy, similar to gradient descent, that can in some cases be faster to converge and give better results. We're going to simulate evolution by creating neural network creatures in javascript and having them evolve over time to try and walk across the screen. I'll discuss the steps that our algorithm will take, then code out the neural network class at the end of the video. Review: Python Projects Walkthrough (Auto Garage)
Review: Python Projects Walkthrough (Auto Garage) Get The Full “Learn Python 🐍” Online Course: http://www.mnemonic.academy/learn-python Download The Code From GitHub To Follow Along https://github.com/dylanjorgensen/marshmallow The following video is from an online educational course produced by Mnemonic Academy that teaches the basics of Python programming using mnemonics, metaphors and the science of learning titled “Learn Python: Like a Bee Student”, taught by instructor Dylan Jorgensen Welcome our final lesson of chapter 1! You are now about to experience the top of the pyramid where we will look at the nouns of python in context of real world applications. So for this lesson Imagine you were taking a course from me to be an auto mechanic instead of a python programmer We are done learning nouns now, so this is the point where were would be done walking around the garage and simply pointing and naming objects like wrenches, screws and drills. But before we move on to learning about how all the tools fit together it would be helpful to take a field trip day and open up the hood of many different cars and start getting a feel for where the parts are even if we don’t know what they do. That is my goal with this video. Think of each project as a car, where we pop the hood and point out where the pieces we have been learning about come together in real applications. Reach-Scale Monitoring | Advances in Stream Gaging
The Arizona Water Science Center demonstrates new methods in Reach-Scale Monitoring to improve accuracy and measurability of high flow events. By installing pressure transducers and using LiDAR to measure topography data, hydrologists are able to simulate flows with two dimensional models which will help better calibrate stream gages. These advances have potential to aid in gathering important hydrologic data in hard to access locations. Filmed and Edited by Corey Shaw Music Aritst: Cory Gray, “Technological 1-5”.
