If a fully driver was installed that is out of date, I would use DDU to remote it, reboot, then install the driver of your choice. If you are happy with the driver that Windows 10 pre-selected for you, you don't need to do anything. Hope this helps!
Hi adrockr2! That depends - For a dedicated mining rig, yes, I would still choose this driver. For a mixed mining and gaming or casual mining rig, I would suggest the most current Adrenalin drivers. The Adrenalin drivers offer stability and compute mode for mining. Depending on the miner you use, you may not lose much hashing power despite using the gaming drivers in compute mode. The Blockchain driver is designed for mining, not a very good choice for an everyday use / dedicated mining rig.
Hi Fininho rs! Unfortunately, the blockchain driver is not designed for gaming and will perform poorly in games. The newest Adrenelin drivers appear to be nearly as fast with the added benefit of good mining performance. I suggest trying them.
Hello!! great video! i would like to ask if its normal to get 22-23 Mhs on a sapphire rx570 itx 4GB (elpida), I cant seem to get it over that, iom using blockchain drivers added patcher and overclocked to 1050/2000. Any sugggestions? Also im using a bios mod but i dont really know if its the correct one. Thanks and good video!
Hello again my friend! I was able to get another rx 570 pulse itx 4gb just like the first one but im having troubles flashing the bios when i try to flash it it says rom cant be erased. Ive seen that the new bios is only 256kb and the one from the first card was 512kb but the memory is the same (elpida)... what am I doing wrong? And thanks again ^^
Hi Adrian! That is great news! I'm glad you're getting more out of the card now. Any overclock that is stable and that doesn't produce invalid shares is good. Some cards go higher than others, some lower. Thank you for the support!
Well this is something now, i did all the process again and im now currently at 29 mh :))))))))))) thankyou so much dude you are a god!!!! Gpu clock 1200 memory clock 2025 is that too high? and thank you again you earned a sub for life :P
Hi Harith! You unfortunately cannot install both, you will need to pick one. The Blockchain driver is optimized for mining specifically, I would not suggest it for a PC that you will be gaming on. Only the RX Vega graphics cards take the largest hit by using standard gaming drivers.
I tried to instal the 18.22? Amd driver and when I reboot the computer or psu will not start turns on for one second and then off. My first mining rig annoying cause I was getting 20mh just now found out their is a compute mode and gaming mode.. tried to install the amd drivers now system won't turn on.. any ideas? Also may of had the bios switched on the GPu during this .. it initially did a partial install and didn't work I restarted then I did the beta 18.22 and then power surge after reboot
If you flash a custom BIOS on any cards in the system but do not run the AMD Pixel Patcher successfully, you may have black screens / crashes / reboots / disabled graphics cards in the device manager. I would remove any graphics cards that have custom un-signed BIOS's and boot the PC. Remove the driver with DDU, I have a video on this as well. Then shut the PC down and reinstall the custom BIOS graphics cards. After, you should be able to boot the PC then install the driver of choice and run the Pixel Patcher. After rebooting you should be good to go. I have on occasion forgotten to do this and run into very similar issues.
i got it for xfx rx-560D 4gb and it works...originally, with stock bios i had 8000mhs,,,after bios mod i got 10,700mhs and with this driver and little underclock of GPU and overclock of memory, i got 12,900-13,000mhs...
Yes, uninstall whatever drivers you currently have with DDU, then reboot and install the August 23rd Beta Blockchain mining drivers. That should help a bit with mining, especially if you have a higher end Polaris or any Vega based graphics card.
Hi Francesco, it is unknown if another dedicated mining driver will be released. Despite being in beta, this driver does work if you're mining. I believe AMD is trying to integrate the advances in this driver into future production drivers. In one of the recent drivers there was a tab to select compute mode. We'll keep our eyes peeled for any changes and post them.
