@Cryptimined, what drivers did you use please? I cannot overclock my p104. Can you help me?
pizzafrenzyman (6 months ago)
Only an idiot would say "mining specific cards have no resale value" Who in the right mind would purchase a former mining card anyway??? No card used in mining has resale value, not even a 1080 ti.
Cryptomined (6 months ago)
only during a time when miners wouldnt sell them,.. if mining becomes unprofitable they would have very little resale value... gaming cards will always have resale value.. no one has to tell those gamers who dont like mining that they were used for mining. During the last dip in the markets, after china banned exchanges, new mining cards were being sold off for dirt cheap.. If people cant make a decent profit with mining cards, their resale value goes down very very fast... its not so with gaming cards... now fuck off old man, im busy.. i dont plan on living as long as your sorry old wrinkled ass
pizzafrenzyman (6 months ago)
Then based on your logic, mining specific cards would have resale value, furthering my point. I suppose English is your second language (meant to be an insult since you decided to take the low road and use profanity "get a fucking clue" and disparaging my great reputation by calling me an old man - one day you might achieve my great age and have the same immense knowledge that I have accumulated over a long period of time)? Lets take this slow: People are arguing that mining specific cards have no resale value, but they do right now. Only gaming cards used in mining have no future value to a gamer. Mining cards can be used for mining until they die, and will hold their value much longer to a miner. In conclusion, mining specific cards are perfect for miners despite what people are saying regarding their future resale value. Let me say it again: "Only an idiot would say 'mining specific cards have no resale value'" Digest it real slow. Then you can try respond intelligently.

what's the lifetime of p106-100!!??? if its worked 24h/24h 1 year !?? then the hashrate slow down and dead please answer me!!!!
Cryptomined (8 months ago)
its hard to predict how long the hashrate wil be effective for.. could be for years, and depends on your electrical costs... for the physical life of the card, its unknown when a card will die on you, but it should at least last for years... though it could die in a few months if its a bad card or conditions are not good (hot)

Chris Sinclair (1 year ago)
That's not much more than the R280's I picked up used on line for $150 CDN. It's maybe 10% more hash but the R280s use way less power. WIth 3 cards and the board they use 700 watts total. So I guess my rigs are much more power efficient at only about 10% less hash rate per card. Not a good buy. You can probably pick up some r280's or even r290's with the same hash rate for $100 nowadays.
robins joseph (1 year ago)
Sir , according to your personal experience how do you feel about this card ? for the nxt how many years can i use to if build a mining rig with this GPU ? will it be profitable ?

IOS In-app Review (1 year ago)
when you look closely, this isnt a comprehensive review on the new p106-100. the power limit is running at 100% ofcourse it's watts will be more than 120w which is (140w) in real time thus it's inneficient. the great thing about the regular 1060 is that it can work at 22mh/s at 60% power limit, memory clock at +750. consuming only 80watts (very efficient) if you can lower the power limit to 60% and up the memory clock from 750-1000% and tell us the results. it would be greatly appreciated.
Sebastian Heintz (1 year ago)

Shajirr (1 year ago)
Well I expected as much. They haven't actually done jack shit with the cards, it was all just a marketing stunt. Thats Nvidia alright. Fucking tools.
Reisha (1 year ago)
why do you need to overclock core for eth mining?
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
actually for me it made no difference.. It ran at the same watts with the core at stock speeds or at the 100 mhz OC.. it was the memory overclock that increased watts by about 70
Reisha (1 year ago)
but it also increases power consumption. not good for people with high electricity rates.
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
it does increase hashrate slightly

This cards are coming out as a market price correction to reestablish order in GPUs market. MSI made it to be able to keep a normal price for gaming cards.
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
markets adjust, if mining becomes unprofitable, miners don't sell... that raises market prices and again makes mining profitable for coins in demand.... its just economics 101... supply and demand. anyways, right now it is very profitable and there is still room for thousands and thousands of more miners if the markets just stay as they are and dont crash. The people who are really slow are the ones who are crying about miners buying up all the gpus... the people who only game... these people really need to get their "game on" and keep up with technology... like crypto. they dont realize that crypto is going to be in their games soon enough... they bash crypto while one day they are going to be using it... its really sad.. most of us miners got in to mining through gaming... we are gamers and miners... yet they still think they need to bash us as "those miners whaaa waaa waaa"... they really need to get a clue and today there are thousands , 10's thousands, 100's of thousands of people who want in on ether... the interest base is growing by the second... not everyone is stupid and dumb like you say... lots of people learn about ether and understand its importance to humanities future.... its just the gamers-who-cant-do-anything-but-cry who cant get it.
GEO-XSP (1 year ago)
But people are DUMB, this is not how it work, if Hash power grows as fast as it did last month, the difficulty will do to and the market don't have time to react. Ether Market is not ready to double the price over night, it needs time. So if people don't realize this the end is mining ethereum is near
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
its not working... now people are buying these up AND the gaming cards. They just wont be able to produce enough of either

That MSI card Will blow up in less than year , there is no heatsink or any kind of metal on the vrm part to cool it , that part depends only on the air from the main fans and it will not be enough. Too bad for a cryptocurrency card that will run on full load 24\7

I only get my EVGA SSC 6GB 1060 up to the high 21.x mh/s, but can't break 22. Can only put the memory at a stable +600, and I run the core clock +100. I also have the power limit cranked down to 47, but even when I put it up to 120%, the numbers don't improve at all. Is this normal?

AVLRECORDS (1 year ago)
LOL i live at my parents house, the power bill was like 800 euros a month.. just for regular day life without mining. why the fuck people mine anyway??
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
people mine for various reasons. Why do I mine? now,... thinking about the future, being an early adopter always pays off if it is adopted by a wider audience.... Why I started mining? well I like to play games and had some 295x2 and 980ti's and figured maybe I could pay off the cards...it works and I when I learned I can make free GPU's i went all in.... Why do people mine? 1. Profit, you can make a fairly good daily return in general, though its risky, things can change anyday. 2. to get crypto at a discount and hold, again thinking about the future. 3. just something productive to do to waste time... its fun, pays off, and helps you learn. Learning and experimenting with mining is much better than crying about GPU prices :) like all the babies who can only game do

My local store is having a sale on the 1070 STRIX for $475. I only need 3 more and I'll have my 8 card rig running. People should reconsider buying these and just let the farms have them. The only real advantage is less wattage.
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
I agree, im buying 6 1070s tomorrow morning for about 550$each
Seems like they should have just ramp'd up production on their typical 1060's. My guess is, they didn't need to retool their manufacturing line too much and with no I/O on the board, that means less cost and faster production. Sale at the same price as gaming 1060's and they are making more off miners now.

Daniel Terry (1 year ago)
For Ethereum don't up the core clock in fact lower the core clock to -200 and see if you can max the ram clock that should give you the best MH/s. For Zec I would try and get best over all Sol/s with the least amount of power used.
from where I can to buy it??

Where is the 36% increase?
G Chandran - E-inc (1 year ago)
6 cards together only give you 25mhs????
matt orr (1 year ago)
I dont believe what you have received is a REAL 106 mining card. The specs that have been released previously have that card hitting 60MH/s at stock speeds, this is nowhere near that and more like a regular GTX 1060. I understand that the early leaks may not be 100% accurate as far as specs, however this is the reason why i believe that this is not a legitimate "mining card"; The forecast for the 1060 mining card has it hashing at about 60MH/s with a 90 day warranty and no display ports. That was the original "report", now we know that the GP106 card will probably be around 36-40% more powerful than the regular version of the same classification. Even just using the lowest numbers, this has the hashrate at 36% with a boost of +6.84 - 8.64 stock and overclock respectively placing the P106 around 26-32 MH/s depending on the clock and that is the lower numbers of the spectrum. This is basically all we have heard about it so far, so i personally think that the cards you have received may not be legitimate mining cards, especially coming from china. They are very good at faking cards and it would make sense that they want to be the first to make some money on the mining craze. If youve ever received a fake card from china you would know that they can do all kinds of stuff, even hack the firmware so that it reports seemingly "legit" numbers to any information program you use on it. I've seen them hack GT640's to appear as if they have 4GB of Ram and are a 1050TI. Regardless what we DO know is that the hashrate WILL be higher and the efficiency will be better. You may very well have received a mining card and it just not what it was expected to be, however i personally believe you may have just gotten a modified regular card with the Display ports etc removed. If this does end up being the performance we get from the 106, More than likely i will be sticking with the regular gaming cards for their extended warranty and resale value. Although keep in mind those who are worried about Nvidia placing a 90 day warranty on the mining cards, realize that by the end of 90 days you should have made your money back on the Card so ultimately, worst case scenario if the card dies after 90 days, it should have already paid for itself.
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
60mh/s is a lie and fake news... rumor... dont trust it. These are real cards, im honest and I dont pay games. Remember I was the FIRST to report that NVidia was coming out with mining cards... I reported it on the forum.z.cash before any other website on the entire internet knew anything about them.
matt orr (1 year ago)
and to add on to my original post: now that i have thought about it, if the goal is to open the market back up so that gaming cards are available at reasonable prices this card would finally make sense. Just as long as it is cheaper than the originals, basically theyre just creating a card for miners to buy while still leaving cards for regular gamers etc. sorry for the brainfarts!

chri5mc (1 year ago)
I'm thinking this is just a market entry to say they got something out. The real cards tailored for miners will come later. They need to cut out the x16 connector and come up with a more simplified way to power and connect the card to the motherboard. Currently double powering the cards is stupid (6-pin and powered riser) and can definitely be improved

if you look at 2:43 on the board, where are normally the display outputs, you can see some solder points (1 looks like DP) so maybe you could recycle the card as a normal GPU if you solder some connectors on the board

Krystian Naja (1 year ago)
i think they want to cut small miners... and keep the mining cards for genesis etc... so with increased difficulty, less ppl will mine on gaming cards, demand lower, prices too... big miners will be happy, nvidia will be happy and gamers too... but not those who mine on pricey cards.

Afternoon all, Just an FYI, Im an online distributor/ reseller. We hear that NVIDA might NOT hold the warranty for their "traditional" gaming cards if there is evidence there was mining clocked on them past 3 months of purchase date, hence the weird rule of 90 day warranty on these cards. Question.... Has anyone Europe actually tried processing an RMA of their Nvidia gaming card when sent back to Manufacturer ? You will find it very difficult now. We have access to these cards, as an import but haven't bought for reasons in other comments. People have been banging on about warranty/ resale but its just not these cards its all NVIDIA cards. (Dont shoot me, this is news in Europe) Ruling isnt public as of yet, but whispers through the distributor network.
Niraj G (1 year ago)
Agree, Miners are affecting their main customer base.... Nvidia arent great for Mining- fact, this is just a stripped down gaming card, to claw back some sales from AMD - Pure business. These are designed for farms with minimal bloatware - quick set up etc .... AMD RX5XXs only safe bet with 27+H/R for average+ miners.

why are your fans at 100%? it will not die faster? this i ask for advice not to flame. ty
cracklingice (1 year ago)
I wonder how the lack of 'active' VRM cooling will effect these cards. I mean obviously the fan will get some air past the heatsink and down on the VRMs but really - no heatsink at all?
cracklingice (1 year ago)
So, these cards are really more targeted for mining facilities than for consumer miners right? Because I can't see consumer miners running say a dozen or so cards really going for these things, but facilities buying cards by the hundreds I could definitely see them going for them.

can you run games on this cards
Cryptomined (1 year ago)
no because there are no outputs and 1060s dont have SLI for hte rx470 mining cards, you will be able to run those in crossfire for gaming.. so that adds to the rx470 mining card value unlike the nvidia cards.
Vasili Aliseenko (1 year ago)
где ты купил такие карты ?
Peter Snizek (1 year ago)
That's a disappointing performance given the price, which in our region is no different to regular cards. Also, I don't understand why they equipped the cards with 8GHz instead of 9GHz DDR5 VRAM. If with 9GHz, the 1060 mining card could eventually get close to 30Mh/s in Ethereum. As the mining versions have no monitor connectors, there's very limited to no resale value. So given the overall shortage, these cards are a pure money grab at the current price point.

thats why i recommend just getting 1060 6g cards

At last. I waited for this for a long time. Thanks for the video! MSI does not have special indestructable fans on those cards? I wonder what life span to expect...

it is a special product designed for China cuz the price of 1060 there has gone too high (over $320), so it is much cost efficient to buy normal 1060 here in US, especially these mining cards are not as good as normal 1060 since they dont have any display ports

Australia has been blacklisted to receive these cards due to consumer rights laws. Minimum 1 year warranty is needed. !!! SO PISSED!

Makubekz (1 year ago)
Yung iba kasi 3months warranty binibigay. Wait nalang tau sa RX 470 ME sana sakto ung price. If 10k lng sana ung 1060 na mining ok sya..
jeffrey batobalani (1 year ago)

Not impressed ! At all! Weak mega hash rate and if there over $150 there way over priced!
matt orr (1 year ago)
yes there are. At nmy local microcenter you can get the 3GB 1060 which hashes just the same as the 6GB for 199. I also just picked up a 6GB version for $250 so "old prices" are still around at reputable dealers who arent screwing their customer.

TheFakeCanadian lol and how much are the gtx 1060 again because of mining? 600$ you cant conpare these to tge old gpu prices because there are no old gpus left dumbass
TheFakeCanadian (1 year ago)
Kevin Do bs nope, these will retail for $200+. This was conformed by Nvidia, big mistake.

I need these to be release ASAP for US market.. not that I'm going buy these, but in a hope that gaming cards would reach sane prices. I need one GPU for my gaming rig. I build a ryzen system in Apr and since then its sitting without GPU.
