Joomla 3 Tutorials: Setting up the Read More Button Joomla is one of, if not, the largest Content management Systems on the internet today. With literally thousands of Extensions, plugins, templates and modules to enhance Joomla, there is no limit to what kind of website you can build. In this tutorial, I will take you through how to set up the 'Read more' Button on an article. The read more button allows you to only show part of an article on a page and gives the reader the option to read more of the article or to disregard it altogether. By the end of this tutorial you should be able to add a read more button to your article as well as configure your article to best suit your website. Thanks for this tutorial. I cannot insert a read more button and I do not know why. I do see the text which should appear after clicking on the button already with the first text block, and no read more button in between. What can I do?

Normally the first thing would be to test the button using one of the standard templates that come packaged with joomla. I found that many Templates that I load, or even create using Artisteer can be buggy when it comes to certain things around Joomla. Thats the nature of this beast. If the button does appear, then Id suggest going back to t he developer of thew template and let them know what your issue is
On my case when i place the read more it works but not as expected, because when i click on read more, i view only the text below the read more and the text above read more dissapear.
Thanks for reply, i've solved it by enable the option "Show intro text" :)

There's a setting you have missed in either the article configuration or the menu config that tells the link to include the read more. Its been a while since I've opened Joomla, but This channel seems to be growing so, Ill do some more with the latest version.
