How to install the most recent AMD Adrenalin 18.3.4 Drivers for GPU Mining with blockchain compute support. This is for the RX400 and RX500 Series. For Vega GPU's it is recommended to stick with the original Blockchain Beta Drivers.

can u give me ur discord to talk, i got issue on new driver version win10-64bit-radeon-software-adrenalin-edition-18.5.1-may23, if i update to use that version, i feel screen freezing abit.. mouse freezes, i got 2 rx580 asus strix in crossfire, i dunno how to fix it, mine mobo is asus rog strix x299 e gaming, i7 7820x 16gbram the driver i can use without issues is > win10-64bit-radeon-software-adrenalin-edition-18.2.1-feb7, if i update the windows just fuck up!
What are the differences between these drivers and blockchain ? I don't see any differences, why should I spent the time on the driver switching ? Also there is a significant risk that I'll break the rig with these actions. There is a golden rule in the software engineering field - If the system works, do not touch it !
Could someone help me? I have 6 cards (ASUS RX580 8GB) 2 or 3 of the card speed is at 29 mh/s but the rest are much lower when all are running (12-17 mh/s). I get 29 mh/s when I run it by itself, this only happens when I run them all together. I also noticed at start up all cards are running at 29 mh/s, but about 5-10 mins, some of the cards reduce speeds to about 12-17 mh/s as I’ve mentioned above. Temperatures are about 65, so it’s not that hot and the other cards are at around the same temp. I’m mining Ether btw. Any helps is appreciated. Ty
If I could click that fkin thumbs UP a 1000 times I would. After months of running around with Microsoft and AMD about not having the driver and settings load properly, finally the answer was the patch before installing.
WTF!? Not one SOB from either company , not one tech , not one bstrd could inform on the patch??? Followed your directions exactly and BAM ! Worked beautifully. Whenever problem going to you now. Things work and is practical. You are the Donald Trump of YouTube tech info!
Hi, i can't connect more then 8 Rx570 4 gb on mb h110 pro btc. Appears blue screen, until 8th card it's all right but ASAP i restart and connect 1 more and plug in PC, it appears blue screen error, do you know smt about it?
Clear and simple tutorial, I like yours videos thanks for share all this
So, I still with the blockchain beta 17.xx.x version (I do not remember the exactly numbers)
Changing from the blockchain beta driver to this new it will have a different performance?
Thanks buddy! This is the second time you saved my ass! Msi pro carbon was unable to mine with the 6th RX580 sapphire nitro plus. In the beginning, motherboard was detecting my 6th card but i got OPENCL CALL message error and the 6th card was decreasing shorthly to 0 mh.s! When i switched to this new driver , the 6th card is mining without any problem. Anyway, PLEASE AVOID MSI MOTHERBOARD FOR MINING ! you wont get all those FUNKY SHITTY situations with ASUS CARDS!
Hi @Cryptomined. I've done the "optional" upgrade via AMD Settings which I recently downloaded, haven't uninstalled previous drivers though via DDU as you've instructed. Would it automatically replace? 2. I'm currently getting 28.3 MHs at most out of 8x RX580; how did you get to 30+?
This is very helpful video regarding update GPU mining drivers. And Sir I want to ask you,do we have to do this every time? When does the need to update the mining ring driver? Will the driver of the mining ring always have to update this way Please Tell me
First, there should be a tiny arrow next to "graphics card" and "driver version" if that doesn't show all gpus, go into the settings. You can select the gpus that are not shown there. Hope it helped :)
Reading on bitcointalk forums, people say it reduced hashrates for about 50 per card on e.g. Vega cards, with slight more on power consumption. So for Vega card this update is not good. Even if it's the same as blockchain no reason to move on to new, will just stay with this. If I see update with 10% better performance then I would spend time and upgrade rigs, otherwise not worth spending time in same results or worse results.
Thanks Brah, I built a 13 GPU XFX RX580 8GB based on one if your previous vids; I believe 18.2.1 worked best for me.
I built a 2nd rig of X8 Power Color Red Devil Goldens which I didn't have to flash, I flipped to silent bios and set to compute and you may add for Ethereum you can set Global Wattman to 1150 -2150, on the Power Color Golden cards they will run stable at 1150 - 2200 all day. They are twice as thick on the twin freezers. These Wattman settings will reduce the watts pull at the wall.
You and BitsbeTrippin are the best channels for miners. Thanks again for the up date, I am happy with 30.xxx Mh/s and when they are running I tend not to stop them.
I make tweaks when they kick out for different reasons, (Internet, Power failure, GPU call fail, etc), I will update at the next full stop.
I use to be in in transportation and you only make money when you keep the wheels spinning.
EVGA's quality has slipped, I had X1 1000 GQ & X2 750 GQ burn out from 1 to 3 weeks. I found 1050 watt PSU on eBay for 53 bucks and they are killing it.
I just had to add more 8 pin connectors, and only X2 sata to PCIeX16 adapters, or the wires get warm with running X3 or more, I also have a platinum HP 1200 watt with a breakout board which you can add in with one of the thousand watt psu's for more 8 pins.
I just put a 60mm fan between the breakout board and the front of the HP psu to blow air through the front vents in the front to assist the little exhaust fan on the back; and that keeps it much cooler, hope that helps.
Heat and dust are the biggest enemy of all electronics.
dadimovich MDK I manually set the fans at 1500 - 3000, and they average at 30% to 40% which is okay, try adjusting them in this window and tweak to see how it works out for you. Mine stay below 70C at these settings. Have you flashed your cards? If not they may run hotter. You can also try 1200 -2100, 2125, 2145 and check how that works for you in Wattman, you should still get 28 -29 Mh/s which is acceptable. Good luck brah.
"Thread stuck in device driver" error. on my rx 570 4gb build.... what to do if i install latest driver then msi afterburner not works and cards get freaking hot ........ and also only 20 mhs...... what to do i m using amd driver 23 Aug version>>>>>>>
Compute/Graphics setting only makes abit of a difference with Radeon Pro workstation cards, WX 5100, WX 7100, WX 9100, Radeon Pro Duo.. the Compute/Graphics function was first introduced with Radeon Pro series, tho manifested to Gaming series..
now for some reason all of as sudden AMD is trying to flip things around abit .. claiming that Radeon Pro cards can also game very well & Vega or even RX GPU's can be workstation systems.. contradicting there design & by creating the Pro/Gaming switch drivers function.. which in turn has no function in a Multi GPU config.. so its all just useless..
so after watching this video i said its time to change from the blockchain driver,i had to update ddu and then deleted the drivers but i did restart the rig befor installing the new one,now i get a black screen and nothing more, what should i do cryotomined HELLLLLLLLPP
Do you have the on board video disabled; or do you have a Primary PCIE slot set for video in bios?
If so make sure you connect vid cable in that card. Best to disable on board video as some MOBO will not recognize all video cards.
If you haven't tried, try switching video cable to each card, even if it worked in the card you had it before, hope maybe this helps.
If not just reboot several times to kick in recovery and windows will install a general driver to get you back to a working state.
Hope these help you in some way bra
Cryptomined I changed one to the new driver on a full stop; so far it looks like my other rig with 18.2.1 is finding more shares but I am not yet ready to state that for the record as I need more time to evaluate. Peace.
no need, but a lot of users have been using my old "how to install amd drivers" videos which are very out of date, so this will help me reply to users who reply to those videos... and hopefully keep other users up to date.. of coarse you could always test on your own rig to see if they do improve your rates. and the original blockchain drivers are very old now... i switched to the 18 drivers a long time ago myself... a lot of people dont know how to use drivers after blockchain drivers for mining... so again... this shows them how to install drivers proplery
