I personally have always been an Nvidia fanboy. I had an NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB. And it died. I just got the ASUS Dual RX580 Yesterday night, and I am extremely happy...so far. This card is a fucking monster. I can definitely tell you the rx580 handle some of my games a lot better than the 1060 I came from. My advice is if you get it. Make sure you have a good power supply.
As of now there is a driver issue going around that causes screen flickering and other graphical issues randomly while using 2d applications. Amd have yet to fix this, I know because I have this card and I love it apart from this painful problem.
I want a high performance blower style card. It can be done they just need to give it a large heatsink more heat pipes, larger stroud to house a larger fan with dual layer fans that provide pressure and the other airflow
I just got mine from the mail. It is used but it looks like it is in working order. I tested it in my sister's Node 202 and admit it was too loud for the performance and ran in the mid to high 80s toping at 86C playing Overwatch 1440p Ultra settings with 70fps with latest drivers paired with R5 2600 on a MSI itx board and paired with 2400mhz DDR4 dual channel RAM 16gb, hitting 70fps. My 1050ti did just as good with lesser temps and much quiter (I even noticed I could OC it and lower fan curbes and not get over 68C with the same setup. I wonder why? My 1080 inside an Inspiron 3650 ran Epic at 75fps hitting 86C and was a big louder but the case was virtually unable to gain airflow in my new case the 1080 runs high 60s at High settings (to play 144fps)
Just bought this, I know temperatures are still on the higher range despite Radeon Chill...what a joke...but I don't mind as my room is chilled 24 hours all year round. What I don't get is that everywhere I read says for 1080 then go for Rx580, 1440 then go for 1060. But the benchmarks here shows otherwise.
Thanks for the video!, does the RX580 works for Architecture programs? Im not gonna spend 4000$ for a quadro card, but if I can save a couple of dollars on this card, instead the GTX1060, I need to know how it will work for modeling and render programms, GTX1070 is my first option, but it is maybe too much, since Im not a full time gamer.
I still have one of these in my pc, and it destroys any game I throw at it, beats out any gtx 1060 6gig I have come across, I have the xfx gts black rx 580, performs better then both of the cards shown in this vid
Thanks for the vid! I'm still rockin the Phenom 2 cpu and in the past, i had the HD 5770 but it would not play fallout 4 so i got an unplugged RX560; games play on medium settings okay only now i'm wanting a freesync 21:9 widescreen 1080p monitor and that gpu is not up to snuff i hear. Now i'm thinking of getting the monitor and a RX580. Sound okay to your way of thinking? Thanks
Im so annoyed, I got a 2k freesync monitor (which i love) but my amd gpu died a week ago. Thanks to those crappy prices atm, i can't afford a vega. I'm probably going to spend around 340€ for a rx580, even though I could technically buy a 1070 for 100 more bucks. So conflicted lol I want my pc back, so i also feel pressured to decide. I mean the RX580 does look good, but i wonder if it'll be able to handle 2k for let's say 1 1/2 year, till I can buy a new one. I don't even care if I can get 60FPS. Walking around at 40FPS with medium to high options @2k is all i need.-.
Allow me to thank cryptocurrency for destroying AMD's dream of convenient GPU market prices. On the upside there is hope! People are starting to burn out under the mining (fake) gold rush and GPU's are returning via auctions. I just got an RX 580 Nitro+ for 310 usd. That's still cheaper compared to when I bought a brand new RX 280.
Do all RX 580 cards have freesync? Because I have one, and I can't get free sync to switch on. I'm plugged in via HDMI and it has 3 dp but I don't have a Displayport cable, but if that's the reason why I guess I'll buy one lol someone help please. Thanks
You should really do a retest, i have the shitty nitro+ aka pulse rx580 i can undervolt to 1080mV and get a stable 1400mhz out of it on autosetting for core volt and clock with high fanspeeds at 30% plus powerlimit my card drives stable um to 1500 mhz with an overclocked vram which i limited to 2250 since i am not that experienced with overclocking
SO I have the HP Omen 17.3" with the RX 580 and got it for $1200 ... and I've been testing it's limits for the longest time since I got it... Runs Great perfect and I play overwatch on it all the time at (Ultra settings) while recording at 1080p (60fps) Really love this laptop :)
Lmao, you use Wattman to overclock your RX480/580s? I use MSI Afterburner. I easily get 1425MHz core and 2600MHz Memory on my MSI RX480 Gaming X 8GB with a +100mv and +50% power limit. I only install the AMD graphics drivers, I don't even bother installing the "ReLive" and "Wattman" application that comes bundled with the drivers. My main overclocking tool is MSI Afterburner.
Hi Jambo, My new XFX RX580 XXX is 10.5 inches. My old Asus R9 270DCOC is 10 5/8 inches. XFX has faster clocked versions, but the XXX is 100% 5Star reviews. Everyone's model with over 1400MHz clock gets mixed reviews. XXX is plug and play out of the box. I love it!
